Leadership Experience
Northeastern Climbing Team-
The Northeastern Climbing Team is a nationally competitive (4th in the country in 2016) indoor rock climbing team.
-
During my freshman year at Northeastern, I worked with another student to meet with university athletics and write the proposal
-
I have been on the team and have held the positions of Vice-President and President
-
In 2016 I received the Collegiate Ambassador Scholarship which is given at a national level to those that demonstrate leadership for their team and the general climbing community
-
As a senior I stepped back and let a new generation take the lead without active help from the founders, I still am a member of the team and offer advice to the new leadership
What I learned -
-
I have refined my leadership skills

-
Management of a 30 member team and 6 member executive board
-

I started taking karate classes when I was 8 years old
-
After being a student for about 6 years, I started volunteering as a teacher for two years

When I was 16, I moved up to being a paid instructor leading classes and managing other instructors
-
This experience definitely led to my later leadership at Northeastern on the climbing team
